Kevin Costner spent decades building his career in the entertainment industry. After years of acting, he accumulated a fortune and used some of it to build a sprawling mansion that sits on a 160-acre Aspen property.
Many A-list celebrities build their dream home in the city, nearby mainstream shopping malls, and hotspots that overlook buildings. Kevin Costner, however, chose to step away from the hustle and bustle of city life and live quietly in a scenic and serene estate.
The “Yellowstone” star owns a multi-million dollar estate in Aspen, Colorado, one of America’s wealthiest zip codes, where he can wake up to nature every day. Named “Aspen Independence Ranch,” Costner’s property would make anyone feel like they stepped into a fantasy movie. Click Next and read more

THE PROPERTY AT A GLIMPSE
Costner’s home was designed to entertain not just his family but also 34 guests who can sleep in the three different cottages within the estate.
The ranch sits on a 16–acre piece of land and is surrounded by trees, water, and a calm environment for Costner’s wife, Christine Baumgartner, and their three kids, Grace, Hayes, and Cayden.
THE ENTRANCE
The property’s entrance has highly secured front gates and a private drive surrounded by a forest of golden birches, leading to the main property.
Several green pine trees stand by the Roaring Fork River banks that have a spectacular view of the valley. There are also three separate homes inside the land area – the main house, the river house, and the lake house.

THE MAIN HOUSE
The Award-winning actor’s main residence can house 15 people with six bedrooms, six full bathrooms, and two half bathrooms. It features living areas, dining rooms, entertainment rooms, a chef-style kitchen, and wide outdoor spaces.
The master bedroom was specifically designed to Costner’s liking to add to its luxurious inclusions. In his master suite lies a trap door hidden by the floorboards, leading to a jacuzzi with a waterfall overlooking the river and rocky mountains.
The feature was built to suit Costner’s flair for the dramatic, aside from giving him private access to the hot tub.
On the other hand, the living area has gray couches surrounding a white stone fireplace. Costner’s home was designed to give both family and guests a warm and welcoming feel.

THE LAKE HOUSE
As it’s called, the lake house can house 12 people who are into watersports. According to Costner’s real estate broker, Amy Mottier:
“There are two lakes on the property stocked with trophy trout, canoes, paddleboards. You can even ice fish in the winter.”
THE RIVER HOUSE
Sitting on the edge of the Roaring Fork River is Costner’s favorite part of the estate, the River House. It can accommodate six people and has a stunning view of the snow-capped mountains.
The property features sledding hills with lights and music for fun outdoor activities when iced. In tribute to his film, Costner also has his own “Field of Dreams,” where guests can hang out and play on a vast land of grass. Primarily, it is used for the family’s favorite activity, baseball.

THE PROPERTY FOR RENT
Unlike the baseball field from “Field of Dreams,” his is not surrounded by cornfields. Instead, it is fitted with stadium lighting and music.
Costner’s gorgeous property can be rented for corporate retreats, weddings, and special events for $36,000 a night. In fact, Coster used the property as his wedding venue when he married Baumgartner.
STARTING A FAMILY
The couple celebrated their union in the “Silverado” star’s estate in 2004. That day, the groom arrived in a fantasy-like carriage, pulled by a horse while his bride followed in a vintage pickup truck. After their vows, it was not long enough before they finally welcomed their first child, Cayden.

As a man with previous relationships, Costner was happy with four children he shared with his ex-lovers, three of which were with his then-wife, Cindy.
Cayden is followed by a brother, Hayes, and a sister, Grace. Costner has never been more invested in his family, raising his kids in their Aspen dream home despite his initial hesitations about becoming a father to more. The emotional father once shared
“I have played two roles in my life, one I get paid to do, which is the movies, and the other one is being a father, for which I’ll be rewarded my whole life.”
THEIR FIRST MEETING
Costner first set his eyes on Baumgartner in the ’80s, only to become acquaintances, as he was with his wife, Cindy Costner. Years later, after Costner’s divorce, they finally gave their relationship a chance.
Love was in the air as the couple dated for four years, though shortly separated from disagreement over their future family. As a man with previous relationships, Costner was happy with four children he shared with his ex-lovers, three of which were with his then-wife, Cindy.

“Fear kept me from marrying Christine. [She] wanted a child, but I was afraid I couldn’t be an effective father,” Costner previously said. Nevertheless, their love was rekindled as Costner came to terms with himself, realizing that it wasn’t worth losing the most significant part of his life due to fear.
Costner was previously married to Cindy Silva, his college sweetheart who he met at California State University. The pair tied the knot in 1978 and welcomed three kids, Annie, Lily, and Joe. Their marriage lasted for years, but after working together on “Dances with Wolves,” they began to face marital problems.
Although they tried to save their marriage, eventually, it ended in divorce. It wasn’t until years after that Costner met Baumgartner, following a relationship with Bridget Rooney, and he has since been happy with his family.
Indeed, the Academy Award-winning actor has graced the film industry with his countless portrayals of on-screen heroes. In the end, he is most accomplished in the pivotal role he plays in his children’s lives.
